Rule 44
Power factor
Power factor level should be maintained as follows:-
(a) The power factor of the electricity supplied to the customer should not be less than 0.8 lagging or lead more than one unit.
(b) In order to keep the power factor within the level as per clause (a) in the power transmission and distribution system, suitable means should be arranged.
(c) If the customer's electricity related power factor is not according to the level as per clause (a), the licensee may make such customer to have a suitable device.
